October 8, 2026
Tomorrow morning, Monday, October 5, Sun City Center Community Association members can start buying season series tickets for the SCCCA entertainment lineup. The listing names one place to buy them: the Atrium kiosk at 945 N. Course Lane, open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.
Almost all of this fall in Sun City Center works the same way. The October 1 community calendar is full of dances, theater, fundraisers and concerts. Nearly every listing is run by a resident club, the Community Association or the Kings Point theater group, and most are sold in person, often in short windows. On Sun City Center Boulevard, meanwhile, the national chains announced this year still haven't given opening dates. If you want something on your calendar between now and January, it comes from your neighbors, and you buy it in person.
The SCCCA series has a set ticket order, and it runs a full month before the first show. Here are the dates as listed for the 2026 season:
A series covers five Friday shows or five Sunday shows and costs $90. Friday dance tickets bought one at a time are $20 each, so five of them come to $100. The series saves $10 and gets you in a week or two before single tickets go on sale. The kiosk takes cash, check or credit card, with a 3% fee on cards.
The Friday dances run 7 to 10 p.m. at Community Hall, 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd. Frequency Band opens on November 6, Rocky & the Rollers play December 4, and One Hit Wonders follows on January 8. The Sunday shows start at 2 p.m. in the same hall, with doors at 1:30. These Guys Worldwide is on November 15, Boy Band Evolution on December 13 and Diamonds on January 17. The Sunday listings price single admission at $11 with open seating.
Brochures for the full series are at the Atrium kiosk now. Judy Cesarski, the Activities Director, is the contact listed for questions.
The Atrium is one of two main ticket counters this season. The other is the Kings Point box office, which sells for the Veterans Theater at 1900 Clubhouse Dr. They keep different hours and handle payment differently, and those differences decide whether you get in.
| Event | Date | Venue | Where to buy | Price |

| SCCCA Variety Show | Sun., Oct. 25, 2–5 p.m. | Community Hall | Atrium, or Will Call by email | $15 |
| German American Club Oktoberfest Dinner Dance | Thu., Oct. 29, doors 4:30 p.m. | Community Hall | Check payable to the club | $30 members, $40 non-members |
| Eirinn Abu benefit concert | Fri., Oct. 30, 4–5:30 p.m. | Community Hall | Atrium, Wed. and Fri., 10 a.m.–noon | $25 |
| Pelican Players, "Who's in Bed with the Butler?" | Nov. 13–15 | Kings Point Veterans Theater | Kings Point box office, Mon.–Fri., 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m. | $18 evening, $15 matinee |
A few details in the listings are worth knowing before you go. Pelican Players sells door tickets for "Who's in Bed with the Butler?", but the door doesn't take credit cards and asks for correct change. Seating is reserved cabaret-style plus open bleachers, and you can bring your own drinks and snacks. The comedy has four performances: Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. "Road Trip USA!" is the Cabaret Singers' show marking America's 250th birthday, with songs about American cities and states. All Pelican Players shows are open to the public.
Some Atrium sales run on even tighter schedules than the SCCCA series. The American Association of University Women's Halloween Music Bingo fundraiser sells tickets at the kiosk only on October 6, 8, 13 and 15, from 10 a.m. to noon, with no tickets at the door. The Sun City Center Metaphysical Society's October 26 evening with speaker Gregg Unterberger is $20 at the kiosk in advance and $25 at the door.
The Kings Point Winter Concert Series continues into January at the Veterans Theater. "Lionel Richie Songbook" plays January 5 and "Bad Moon Rising," a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute, plays January 12. Both start at 7:30 p.m., with doors at 7. The calendar notes that Bad Moon Rising sold out in 2023 and 2025.
The ticket order explains when to buy. The Oktoberfest listing explains why the schedule falls where it does. The German American Club says it pushed the dinner dance back again this year "to allow for the attendance of more returning Snowbirds." This year it's on October 29 at Community Hall. Martin Gross and the Sonnenschein Express will play; the listing says Gross recently retired from a long run at the German Pavilion at EPCOT. Banquet Masters is catering chicken schnitzel, bratwurst, and spinach and mushroom lasagna. The club notes that ticket prices are the same as in the past several years.
The rest of the calendar follows the same pattern. October is mostly club events and fundraisers, and the SCCCA series and the bigger Kings Point concerts start in November and run into January. The October events are also where most of the season's charity giving happens:
These events follow the residents' schedule. That's also why their dates are firm, which the boulevard projects can't yet say.
Three national brands are confirmed for Sun City Center Boulevard. The Osprey Observer's August retail roundup describes where each one stood.
Five Guys is planned for 3728 Sun City Center Blvd., Suite 101, in Cypress Village Plaza near Home Depot. It will take the empty western endcap next to Charles Schwab. As of August, sign permits had been filed but interior construction wasn't confirmed. A July pre-opening alert from Restaurant News Resource projected a July 2026 opening, and that month passed with the space still empty. As of this week, Five Guys' Florida location directory doesn't list Sun City Center.
Cold Stone Creamery is building out the former Elite Donuts space at 3824 Sun City Center Blvd. In August, crews were installing water lines under the floor. The company's store page still says "Coming Soon."
RaceTrac plans a gas station and convenience store on the empty northwest corner of Sun City Center Boulevard and Cortaro Drive. The site has been cleared, but building construction hasn't been confirmed and there's no opening schedule.
The new places residents can use today are a short drive away. A Wawa opened June 4 at 14251 S. U.S. 301, just south of the community, with fuel and fresh food. In Ruskin, Publix opened its Wolf Creek Commons store at 3050 19th Ave. NE on August 13, with a pharmacy and drive-through.
If an evening plan this week takes you onto US 301, plan for the road work. FDOT is repaving 5.67 miles of US 301 between the Manatee County line and SR 674. The project started September 29, 2025, and is expected to finish in late 2026. It includes shoulder and turn-lane work. The current FDOT notice lists night lane closures from Sunday, October 4 through Friday, October 9, between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The listed closures end the night before the Harvest Moon Dance on October 10. The FDOT project page is the place to check for new closure notices as the work wraps up.
